EPL Title: It’s Deja vu City

Date:

With two points separating Manchester City from the chasing duo of Liverpool and Arsenal and with about six matches to the end of the season, it’s deja vu city. The crown is almost in the kitty.

We have been and seen this same scenario in the past, where once City is allowed their noses in front, there’s no looking back. They’re home and dry. The Citizens and Pep Guardiola are masters in this game, make no mistake about that.

A couple of weeks ago it was Liverpool in the driving seat, later it seemed like a three horse race, but now that City have their foot on the pedal for a fourth straight title, there won’t be any stopping them.

The noisy neighbours from the other blue side of Manchester are chasing a treble again this season, they are currently first in the EPL, semi final in the FA cup and also still in the last 8 in the race for the champions league.

Although, the EPL is full of surprises which I’s why it’s regarded as the best league in the world, but City and Guardiola are no new comers, they ain’t joking around. The City team we know has the mental toughness and capacity to see this through.

Liverpool for the countless time will have themselves to blame for allowing this slip through their fingers. It has almost now become a tradition that Liverpool finds it very difficult to finish well. It happened during the Steven Gerrard era now it’s happening again.

If Guardiola wins the league this time, he will certainly be regarded as one of the greatest coaches of all time to have tinkered the round leather game.

Jurgen Klopp was looking to quite the Mersey side, Liverpool on a high, as he chased a quadruple but that dream is fast now turning into a mirage. His side seemed completely dazed and devastated such that it will take a miracle for them to end the season with a title.

They have lost their grip on the league title, they are one foot and 90 minutes out of the Europa league after a shock 3-0 first leg home defeat by Atlanta. This obviously isn’t the best of times for the Reds and Klopp.

But no matter what happens, this season is an awesome one not just in England but even in Germany where Javier Alonso and his Bayer Leverkusen side won the Bundesliga in style to end an

11 years dominance by Bayern Munich.

What a season, what a year, whoever wrote this script deserves an Oscar award.
