EPL: ‘Tough test’ – Guardiola warns Man City players ahead of Brighton trip

Date:

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has said their Premier League clash at Brighton on Thursday night will be a “tough test”.

City have to win at the Amex to keep pace with title rivals Arsenal and Liverpool.

The champions are trailing the Gunners by four points and are one point behind the Reds.

However, they have two outstanding fixtures, starting with the trip to Brighton.

“Today is one of the toughest games of the season.

“Brighton away if you put in my calendar is always one of the toughest ones for the way they play.

“My admiration for Roberto de Zerbi is growing every season. Facing his side is harder.

“They have had a lot of problems. Important players were sold. They lost Colwill, Mac Allister, Caicedo… all very important players and they have had a lot of injuries.

“They played in more competitions [but] the way they play always is there,” Guardiola told reporters.
