EPL: Two leading contenders to buy Chelsea revealed

Date:

The two leading contenders to buy Chelsea Football Club have been revealed.

Raine Group was on Wednesday expected to announce the final contenders to buy Chelsea FC.

The American bank has given a new timeline of when they hope to notify bidders of their decision over the takeover of Chelsea.

Recall that Raine, a New York-based investment bank, has been overseeing the process of Chelsea sale since Roman Abramovich first announced his intention to sell the Blues.

No less than 30 bids were submitted to Raine ahead of the 9 pm (UK) deadline last Friday and over the weekend.

Raine has been working its way through all offers and proposals.

However, according to The Telegraph, the two frontrunners to buy Chelsea are the Todd Boehly consortium, who they claim are expected to be shortlisted, and Sir Martin Broughton’s consortium.
