EPL: We suffered for you – Conte sends message to Christian Eriksen ahead of Brentford vs Tottenham

Date:

Tottenham manager, Antonio Conte has hailed Brentford midfielder, Christian Eriksen, ahead of the important Premier League clash this weekend.

The Italian said he hopes to renew acquaintances with his former midfielder at Inter Milan at the weekend.

Eriksen joined Inter Milan from Tottenham when Conte was in charge of the Italian side in January 2020 and they lifted the Serie A title.

The Denmark international, who suffered a life-threatening heart issue during Euro2020, is now at Brentford.

He will face his former club and boss for the first time on Saturday as Tottenham visit the Bees.

“I’m very happy to see him play football again,” Conte told the press.

“In June it was terrible, those images were terrible for everybody. We suffered a lot for him and his family.

“To see him for a game will be a pleasure for me. It’s incredible because not long ago what happened.”
