Liverpool manager, Jurgen Klopp has claimed he is yet to lose his job because of his past achievements with the Premier League club, not their form this season.
Klopp was reacting to the sackings of Graham Potter and Brendan Rodgers at Chelsea and Leicester respectively on Sunday.
Liverpool is set to play the Blues in the league on Tuesday evening.
Last weekend, Klopp’s men were thrashed 4-1 by Manchester City, meaning they have lost eight away fixtures already.
Despite Liverpool sitting eighth on the table, Klopp knows fully well he could have been sacked too.
“I’m aware of the fact I’m sitting here because of the past, not because of what we did this season,” Klopp said.
“If this was my first season, that would be slightly different. We have smart owners who know about the situation, but that doesn’t mean anything else.”
