EPL: Why we lost 3-1 to Arsenal – Conte

Date:

Tottenham Hotspur manager, Antonio Conte, has given reasons why his side lost 3-1 to Arsenal on Saturday.

Harry Kane’s penalty cancelled out Thomas Partey’s stunning opener, before Gabriel Jesus and Granit Xhaka won the points for the Gunners.

Spurs saw Emerson Royal receive a straight red card for his challenge on Gabriel Martinelli, with the game at 2-1.

Conte admits the game was over following referee Anthony Taylor’s decision.

“I think the first half was in the balance. We had many chances to score. We made a big mistake with the last pass because we had great space. In the second half we conceded a second goal early and we could do much better.

“With the the red card, [went] the game. It was a really difficult game after that. We had to change totally then. It was the referee’s decision and I don’t want to comment,” Conte told BT Sport.
