Former Liverpool star, Vladimir Smicer, has declared that Erling Haaland could struggle at Manchester City like Romelu Lukaku has found life difficult at Chelsea.
Smicer suggested the Norwegian may end up not being a success at the Etihad Stadium.
“It looks like City will be even stronger with Haaland but I thought the same thing when Lukaku joined Chelsea,” Smicer told BoyleSports EPL.
“In the end it didn’t happen so we’ll see how he’ll settle at City. It’s a different league, different pressure and different style so we’ll see but I still believe Liverpool are getting stronger and stronger and will challenge for the title next season.”
Prior to claiming the Premier League title for the fourth time in five seasons, Manchester City had announced the signing of Haaland from Borussia Dortmund.
The striker, seen as one of the world’s best at the moment, is expected to join up with Pep Guardiola’s side for their pre-season activities in June.
