Former Bolton Wanderers boss, Sam Allardyce has hailed former Super Eagles midfielder Austin Jay Jay Okocha, describing him as a fantastic captain.
He noted that Okocha while playing Bolton Wanderers, made the most impact in his team as the manager.
Allardyce said this while appearing on Sky Sports on the occasion of the Premier League’s 30th anniversary.
The former England national team boss said he “thoroughly enjoyed” the time he worked with Okocha.
Okocha, a former Super Eagles captain, scored 18 goals in 144 appearances for Bolton Wanderers.
“I was fortunate enough to go and pick out some of the players who were absolutely outstanding for Bolton in that time,” Allardyce said.
“I think probably the one who stood out the most for everybody was Jay Jay Okocha because of his ability and skill, and the entertainment that he actually brought to the Premier League, not just for Bolton fans of course.
“He was, for me, a fantastic captain.”
