Arsenal legend, Thierry Henry has told Chelsea star, Christian Pulisic to either kick-start his career at Stamford Bridge or leave the club.
The former French striker said the onus is on the American to bring something on the table, insisting that success will not just come his way.
He added: “You have to come and deliver at one point. It’s about you also, what you can bring on the table,” Henry said on CBS Sports.
The US international has started just one match for the Blues this season before the sacking of manager Thomas Tuchel on Wednesday.
He is said to be frustrated by his lack of game-time in west London and there are suggestions that a new manager could turn things around for him at Stamford Bridge.
But Henry believes the American must also show that he is willing and ready to bring out his best under a new manager.
“You can be the best chef in the world and if the guy doesn’t put anything on the table, what are you going to cook?” Henry continued.
“It’s always about the coach, it’s always about helping him. Can you bring something to the table for me to cook?
“Now I don’t think he’s a bad player, I’m just saying at what point can it come from you? At what point can he free himself?”
