Manchester City striker Erling Haaland has called for an evolution in goalline technology that covers all aspects of the pitch, including throw-ins.
Haaland has been in stunning form since joining Pep Guardiola’s side and spearheaded City’s treble and back-to-back Premier League title last season.
The Norway international has emphasized the importance of fair play and has asserted that extending goalline technology will prevent teams from gaining an unfair advantage.
The striker called for a change in the rules of throw-ins, suggesting that as long as the thrower has two hands on the ball, the direction of the throw should not matter.

“If you throw this way or that way, it doesn’t matter. Just make sure you have two hands on the ball,” Haaland said (as per Daily Mail).
“I don’t even know the rules, and if I’m going to make a throw, I will probably do it wrong.
“But it doesn’t matter if you throw the ball straight down, straight up or whatever. I would change that.”
