Organisers of the 2024 Stephen Keshi National U17 football tournament, led by it’s Chairman, Kelvin Etemike, and accompanied by the General Secretary of ANANPF, Austin Popo were at Illa, Delta state to pay visit to Late Stephen Okechukwu Keshi’s grave.
The duo with their entourage visited the family of the departed former coach and captain of the Super Eagles, while also laying a wreath at his grave side.
According to Etemike, they went to pay respect to the fallen hero before the competition will kick off proper on November 20.
“We were at Stephen Keshi’s family compound today at Illa to visit his grave and pay him respect before the commencement of the competition in his memory.
“I was accompanied on the visit by ANANPF General Secretary, Austin Popo and other members of our team, where we laid a wreath at his grave side.
“Keshi was a legend and this is our own little way of trying to immortalize him.
“This year’s edition will be bigger and better”, Etemike assures.
The tournament is in it’s 6th edition and it’s scheduled to kick off in Benin the Edo state capital on November 20.
