Ex Sports Minister Sunday Dare Applauds Appointment of Finidi, Amokachi into Super Eagles Coaching Setup

Former Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Chief Sunday Dare, has extended his warmest congratulations to Finidi George on his appointment as the coach of the Super Eagles, and Daniel Amokachi on his selection as an assistant coach. Chief Dare, known for his staunch advocacy of local content in sports, hailed the appointments as a positive step towards empowering Nigerian coaches and providing them with greater opportunities to lead on the international stage.

In a statement issued on Monday, Chief Dare commended the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) for granting Finidi George the autonomy to select his coaching staff, resulting in the inclusion of Daniel Amokachi as an assistant coach. He highlighted Amokachi’s wealth of experience, particularly his pivotal role as assistant coach alongside the late Stephen Keshi during the Super Eagles’ triumphant campaign at the AFCON 2013.

“I am delighted to see Finidi George and Daniel Amokachi take on leadership roles within the Super Eagles coaching setup,” Chief Dare remarked. “Their appointments signify a significant stride towards harnessing local talent and expertise to drive success for the national team.”

Chief Dare emphasized the importance of nurturing indigenous coaching talent and providing them with the necessary support and platforms to excel. He underscored the value of Amokachi’s experience and his unwavering commitment to the Super Eagles, citing their shared passion for the team’s success.
