The Nigeria Football Federation announced a roster update on Monday, four days before the Super Falcons take on African champions South Africa in a blockbuster 2024 Paris Olympic Games qualifier in Abuja.

Super Falcons manager Randy Waldrum has made a roster move, bringing in Jumoke Alani as a replacement for Ashleigh Plumptre.

2023 Fifa Women’s World Cup star Plumptre pulled out of the squad for the double header against Banyana Banyana due to injury.

Alani is not really an unknown quantity as she was a key member of the Falconets squad to the 2022 Fifa U20 Women’s World Cup, where she played alongside Super Falcons midfield general Deborah Abiodun.
