Falcons Gift Monday counts blessing set for Sunday’s showdown vs Burundi

Super Falcons striker Gift Monday is upbeat ahead Sunday’s clash with Burundi. Monday who made her WAFCON 2022 debut against Botswana on Thursday, declared her resolve to do the nation proud.

Taking to her twitter handle Monday described her debut which incidentally marked coincided with Super Falcons first victory at the ongoing Championship in Morocco as a blessing.

“It is a true blessing and honour to have made my dreamed #WAFCON2022 debut with #TeamNigeria. To have played a part in our first win of the tournament is special and a great moment for my budding career. Now, I’m focused on the task ahead to do 🇳🇬 proud against Burundi #GM2” she enthused.

The Bayelsa Queen ace who featured at the 2018 FIFA U-20 World cup, will no doubt be hoping to help Randy Waldrum tutored side earn massive win against Burundi who are currently pointless to push into the knock out stage.

Gift Monday it will be recalled has been nominated in two categories for the forth coming CAF interclub player of the year as well as young player of the year awards.

The Falcons are not only seeking their 10th title of the continental diadem but also a ticket to the World Cup in New Zealand and Australia in 2023.
