Erling Haaland has been scolded by fans for his flying kick during Manchester City’s 4-2 win over Crystal Palace.

The former Borussia Dortmund attacker was caught with his foot high in the air, catching Palace player Joachim Andersen’s head – a move many feel he should have been sent off for.

Even still, the youngster managed to find the net on three occasions at the Eithad as the Premier League champions overturned a two-deficit.

But some felt that justice was not served as Haaland should have been given his marching orders for what was a clear red card offence.

One fan wrote online: “Happy for Anderson’s goal, but Haaland should have had a red card. Studs out to the back of the head and VAR didn’t even look at it. Not even a yellow. So sick of different rules for different teams. Still proud of the fight.”

Another said: “I’m mostly annoyed about the denied goal and lack of a Haaland red. Let’s be honest, nobody expected a win. The fact we’ve lost and come away annoyed we couldn’t have taken more is a sign of progress.”

A third wrote: “Had to be Haaland probably should’ve been given a red card for this but that’s the difference in treatment big teams get.”

A last one stated: “Ayew red for “throwing a forearm” but no mention of Haaland putting his boot into Andersen’s head.”

Indeed, Haaland bagged himself a second-half hat-trick as the champions fought back from two goals down to claim a league win over the Eagles.

It looked as though the south London side were destined for three points when they led 2-0 at half-time thanks to a John Stones own goal and Andersen’s header.

However, Pep Guardiola’s men came back – with Bernardo Silva’s shot deflected shot going past Vicente Guaita. Then marquee signing Haaland found the net three times to secure three points for City.
