Auburn University student-athlete, Favour Ashe has been named the SEC Men’s Co-Runner of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday.
Ashe finished first in the 60m event at the Harvey Glance Tide and Tiger Dual Meet last weekend with a time of 6.53, the second fastest time in the world over the fistance so far this seasin.
In his indoor season debut last year, the 20 year old’s time of 6.51 was just three hundredths of a second from the Auburn school mark.

It is still the joint fourth fastest time ever ran by a Nigerian in the event behind Deji Aliu (6.48), Olusoji Fasuba (6.49) and Tosin Ogunode (6.50).
Ashe won SEC Freshman of the Week twice and SEC Outdoor Freshman Runner of the Year in 2022 at the University of Tennessee. He shares this week’s award with Florida’s Robert Gregory.
Ashe will be back in action Friday, January 19, at the Vanderbilt Invitational in Nashville, Tennessee.
