FIFA ranking: Super Falcons maintain 36th spot, top Africa

In the latest FIFA/Coca-Cola Women’s World Ranking, released on March 6, 2025, Nigeria’s Super Falcons maintain their position in 36th place globally, solidifying their status as Africa’s leading women’s football team.

Within Africa, the Super Falcons are followed by South Africa’s Banyana Banyana (53rd), Morocco (61st), Zambia (62nd), and Ghana (66th).

During the review period, the Super Falcons recorded strong wins against Algeria, defeating them 2-0 and 4-1, but suffered a 2-1 loss to France’s Les Bleues.

Despite the mixed results, the Super Falcons continue to dominate African women’s football.

Globally, the United States holds the top spot, with Spain and Germany ranking second and third, respectively.

England, a powerhouse in women’s football, sits in fourth, while Japan completes the top five.
