The Super Eagles of Nigeria have retained their 38th position in the latest FIFA men’s world rankings, released on Monday.

The ranking, unchanged since November due to the absence of competitive fixtures, sees Nigeria maintain 1,502 points. The team is currently in Morocco for the 35th Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), aiming to improve their standing.

Among African teams, Morocco leads the continent in 11th place globally, followed by Senegal (19th), Algeria (34th), Egypt (35th), and Nigeria (38th). Other African nations in the top 10 on the continent include Tunisia (41st), Côte d’Ivoire (42nd), Mali (53rd), DR Congo (56th), and Cameroon (57th).

Spain continues to hold the top spot in the global rankings, having regained it from Argentina in September 2025. The top 10 is completed by England, Brazil, Portugal, the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, and Croatia, with France rounding off the top ten.

The Super Eagles will hope to climb the rankings with a strong performance in AFCON 2025, as Africa’s second-ranked side seeks continental glory.
