FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup: New NFF president, Gusau, off to India to cheers Nigeria’s Flamingos

Newly elected Nigeria Football Federation president, Alhaji Ibrahim Gusau has left the shores of the country to India to rally support for the national U17 side, the Flamingos who will be facing Colombia in the semi-final of the Women’s World Cup in Goa on Wednesday.

Gusau said, ‘there’s need to rally support for the team. I will be going to make sure that the girls are highly motivated. All hands are on deck to make sure that we come out victorious”

The NFF supremo will arrive India on Tuesday morning a day before the crucial encounter against Colombia.

Wednesday’s semifinal against Colombia will kick off by 12 noon(Nigerian time) in Goa.

The winners of this clash will take on the winners of the second semifinal between Germany and Spain.

The final and third-place will be staged on Sunday, October 30 in Navi Mumbai.
