Finidi dumps Enyimba for Super Eagles’ AFCON job

Enyimba head coach Finidi George may have dumped People’s Elephant for Super Eagles’ AFCON duties and will miss matchday 17 clash against Sporting Lagos.

The former international is currently on national team assignment with the Super Eagles in readiness for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Cote d’Ivoire.

Assistant coach Olanrewaju Yemi will take charge of the nine-time NPFL champions until his return.

Finidi is expected to miss about five games in the league if the Super Eagles reach the AFCON final.

Enyimba remain unbeaten in their last four league games.

The People’s Elephant are fourth on the NPFL log with 26 points.
