Flying Eagles Receive Motivation From Omeruo

Players in Nigeria’s youth national team, Flying Eagles have received a boost to their aspirations of doing well at this year’s Africa Games, as Leganes of Spain defender, Kenneth Omeruo paid the squad a visit at their camp in Abuja.

Omeruo said he was impressed with what he saw on ground, with all the players putting up healthy battles in training, to the extent that the Super Eagles star predicted gold for them at Maroc 2019.

The 25-year-old dark-skinned stopper, who is on loan at Leganes from Chelsea of England, went on to advice the Flying Eagles’ lads to always stay focused, avoid laxity that could derail their ambitions, be fully dedicated and put hard in a short message via Nigeria Football Federation social media handle.

The 25-year-old Kaduna-born star, who has won 51 international caps, is keen to depart Stamford Bridge, but is currently enjoying his summer holiday in Abuja, after winning bronze with Nigeria at the Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.

A statement by Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) revealed that the players were excited seeing Omeruo, who has previously had loan spells at ADO Den Haag, Middlesbrough and Alanyaspor, alongside two separate spells at Kasimpasa and Leganes last term.

The NFF media unit stated: “@NGSuperEagles defender Kenneth @omeruo22 was a surprise visitor at the Flying Eagles camp. The team is preparing for the Football event of the All African Games billed for Rabat, Morocco.”
