Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) general-secretary, Dr Mohammed Sanusi has promised that the youth national team, Flying Eagles will prepare well for this year’s FIFA U-20 World Cup in Poland.
Speaking against the backdrop of the draw that placed Nigeria in Group D with Qatar, Ukraine and USA, Sanusi stressed that the NFF will do everything to ensure the squad are adequately prepared for the event.
As Coach Paul Osahon Aigbogun sets eyes on his side’s opening match against Qatar on May 24, Sanusi said the NFF is already working on getting a final training camp for the team overseas.
The NFF scribe also assured Aigbogun and his wards of top grade friendly games toward the Youth Mundial, in which Nigeria will play their second group match against United States before ending the stage with Ukraine.
Sanusi expatiated: “It’s a favourable draw but we won’t underrate any team. We must respect our opponents and take each game as it comes.
“We exposed the team to series of matches before the AFCON in Niger Republic. They went to the WAFU tournament and played some good preparatory games there.”
