Frank Onyeka names toughest Premier League opponents

Date:

Arsenal dominated the Premier League this season and though they lost the title to Manchester City in the final weeks of the competition, they were a menace for opponents.

Mikel Arteta’s side lost 6 matches in the Premier League, only Manchester City lost fewer games (5), such was both their dominance.

But another team that proved difficult last term was Frank Thomas’ Brentford, who finished 9th, a fairly better campaign than their 2012/22 Season where they finished 13th.

The Bees were one of the few teams to pick points off Arsenal and the only ones to beat Pep Guardiola’s City; home and away, in the Premier League.

Recapping the season, Brentford’s Nigerian Midfielder, Frank Onyeka described both teams as the most difficult opponents.

Onyeka, who overcame his early season struggles with injury fitness, closed out the campaign on a high with 21 appearances, which included a prominent role against the League Champions on the final matchday.

In an interview on Brila FM, Africa’s first Radio Station, Onyeka identified the toughest opponents in the Prem.

“It’s the Prem, every team is hard to play against,” the FC Ebiede product replied.

“But, Arsenal and Manchester City in particular are the toughest teams; they make you run all through.”

Brentford signed the Nigerian from Danish Supa Liga side, FC Midtjylland in 2021, where he had won the league title twice.
