Fresh Covid Case/Injury Ravages Egypt Ahead Of Nigeria Match

Egypt national team doctor Ahmed Abo Abla has revealed that more players and team officials have tested positive for COVID-19 or injured, twenty-four hours to their departure for the Africa Cup of Nations.
SportsDayOnline.com understands that one of the reserve players, Ibrahim Adel tested positive and won’t make it to Cameroon, so also Mohamed Hamdi who is down with a knee injury.

The team doctor however informed that they will request Hamdi’s substitution as the tournament rules allow it.

This is another setback for the Pharaohs who open their Afcon campaign against the Super Eagles of Nigeria on Tuesday, 11th of January in Garoua

One of their goalkeepers, Zamalek’s Mohamed Abo-Gabal had tested positive for Covid-19 alongside goalkeeping coach Essam El-Hadary.

The other coaching staff who tested positive are Mohamed Salah and Ali Mohamed Ali, so also the performance analyst Gerard Moore and conditioning specialist Mostafa Sadek.
