The semi-final fixtures of the CAF Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Morocco 2025 have been confirmed following the conclusion of the quarter-final matches on Saturday night.
Egypt, Nigeria, hosts Morocco and Senegal emerged as the last four after a series of closely contested quarter-final encounters that underlined the fine margins at this stage of the tournament.
Hosts Morocco will face Nigeria, while Senegal are set to clash with Egypt in the two semi-final matches scheduled for Wednesday.
Seven-time champions Egypt claimed the final semi-final spot after edging defending champions Côte d’Ivoire 3–2 in a thrilling encounter that brought the Elephants’ title defence to an end.
The result set up a high-stakes semi-final showdown with Senegal, who earlier booked their place with a hard-fought 1–0 victory over Mali in a tense West African derby.

Iliman Ndiaye’s first-half strike proved decisive as the Teranga Lions showed composure and defensive discipline to protect their slender lead.
Morocco sustained their title push with a composed 2–0 win over Cameroon in Rabat, as goals from Brahim Díaz and Ismaël Saibari highlighted the Atlas Lions’ attacking quality and tactical balance.
Nigeria completed the semi-final line-up with a 2–0 victory over Algeria in Marrakech. Victor Osimhen opened the scoring before Akor Adams sealed the win late to set up a mouth-watering clash with the hosts.
The quarter-final outcomes once again reflected the importance of experience, composure and clinical finishing at the highest level.
The semi-final matches will be played on Wednesday, with the final scheduled for January 18 in Rabat.
