Goals Can Still Rain For Osimhen – Ariyo

Date:

Africa’s reigning male football king, Victor Osimhen’s agent, Ariyo Igbayilola has thrown his weight behind his player, Victor Osimhen, saying the goals can still rain for the Napoli of Italy forward.
Osimhen, who is currently on national duty with the Super Eagles at the 34th Africa Cup of nations tournament holding in Cote d’Ivoire, has struggled with goals, netting just once in three group matches as the team faces the Indomitable Lions of Cameroun in the round of 16 on Saturday, but Ariyo says Osimhen should not be judged with that as there are still matches to play and who knows? He asked rhetorically.
According to the Box 2 Box FC CEO, the entire blame should not be heaped on the player alone as team makes a player and a player can make a team vice versa.
“I’m not perturbed that the goals are not coming now for Victor, this is football and the goals can still rain for him for as long as Nigeria is still in the tournament, he said.
“But we cannot entirely blame the player for the goals drought because a team makes a player and a player can make a team.
“I recall that in 2013 in South Africa our team and officials had to change their tickets like twice, so anything can still happen.
“If the players can’t fly from this round then why are we still there?
“They know that from now onwards it’s winner takes it all, so I believe they will come to the party”, he concluded.
The Indomitable Lions of Cameroun defeated Nigeria at three previous finals to lift the crown in 1984, 1988 and 2000.
Nigeria finished second in group A behind high- flying Equatorial Guinea in a group that had the hosts Cote d’Ivoire and Guinea Bissau while Cameroun also finished second in group C behind Senegal in a group that had Guinea and Gambia.
