The Chairman of Gombe state Football Association and in coming board member Nigeria Football Federation Yakubu Sarma, has expressed his satisfaction over their state wonderful performance in the just ended Nigeria National League Super 8 played at Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Enugu.
Gombe United drew their first match against ElKanemi Warriors of Madugari, won against DMD and drew their last game against Niger united to promote in the elite league in Nigeria, reports.
In an interview with SportsDayonline.com in Enugu, Sarma stated that Gombe united gained promotion to NPFL because of the total given to them by his excellency Mohammed Inuwa Yahaya, the governor of the state.
According to him, ” I am filled with joy because our dreams were met, we are back to NPFL and every credit goes to our loving Governor his Excellency Mohammed Inuwa Yahaya for his undying support for the team throughout the journey.
“Also to the management of the club led by Dr Larry Daniel, management, back room staff and the technical crew for living up expectation from the beginning of the season till the end,” Sarma said.
He further said,” I can assure you all hands will be deck to make sure we continue our race in the big league. we will not repeat the mistakes of the past and i believe the coach knows few areas that needed a quick touch maybe defense and attack and by the time that is done, Gombe united will shock many in the NPFL,” Yahaya Sarma told sportsdayonline.com.
