Gunmen Kidnap Rivers Internal Revenue Director

Gunmen have abducted a director from the Rivers State Board of Internal Revenue Service in Port Harcourt.

The gunmen, reportedly six in number and traveling by speedboat, captured their victim at the Marine Base Area of Port Harcourt and fled to an undisclosed location.

They fired several shots into the air before speeding off with Sir Aribibia John Fubara, a Knight of Saint Christopher in the Anglican Communion.

The younger younger brother of the victim,.Emmanuel Fubara, who confirmed incident, said the matter had been officially reported to the police.

The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) SP Grace Iringe-Koko confirmed the development.

She said: “The command is aware of the incident and the CP has directed tactical units in the command to ensure that the victim is released unhurt. A manhunt has been launched to arrest the perpetrators and bring them to book”.
