Heartland Vows to Bounce Back After Enyimba Defeat

HEARTLAND PLAYERS BY-COT TRAINING OVER UNPAID 3 MONTHS SALARY

Heartland FC’s head coach, Charles Uzor, has commended the Imo fans for their unwavering support despite the team’s 3-1 loss to Enyimba in their first game of the 2024-25 Nigeria Premier Football League season.

Uzor acknowledged the defeat but reassured fans that the team would recover and perform better. He noted that Heartland, with its youthful squad, faced a more experienced Enyimba team and could have secured a different outcome if they had converted earlier chances.

“Enyimba is a seasoned team with experienced players, while our squad is quite young. The game started well, but younger players sometimes lose focus. We promise our fans that we will come back stronger,” Uzor said.

He added that football often presents such challenges, and experience is gained over time. “This is just the first game of the season, and it doesn’t determine our overall performance. We are committed to improving and assuring our fans that the team will get better.”
