Home Eagles to play Ghana or Benin In CHAN qualifier

Date:

The home-based Super Eagles will battle either Ghana or the Benin Republic for a place at the 2022 African Nations Championship (CHAN) in Algeria.

Ghana and Benin Republic will clash in the first round in July.

The overall winners of the two-legged contest will face the Home Eagles in the second round billed to hold in August/September.

The Home Eagles are hoping to return to the biennial competition after missing out on the last edition hosted by Cameroon.

The Eagles were runners-up at the 2018 edition in Morocco.

For the first time in the history of the competition, 18 teams will compete for the ultimate prize.

Algeria will host the competition from January 8-31, 2023.

The CHAN is organised by the Confederation of African Football (CAF), exclusively featuring players from the respective national championships.
