Senate President Godswill Akpabio has revealed that he spent a night at the Dangote Cement factory in Obajana, Kogi State, on the wedding day of Kogi Central Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan.
During Thursday’s plenary at the National Assembly, Akpabio, a former Minister of the Niger Delta, spoke about his close relationship with Natasha’s family, describing her husband as a close friend.
“I slept in Dangote Cement factory in Obajana, Kogi State, on the night of Senator Natasha’s wedding because the Kogi airport lights were in a poor state,” Akpabio explained.
In a separate development, the Senate on Thursday suspended Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan for six months over alleged misconduct within the chamber.
The suspension followed the Senate’s adoption of the report from the Committee on Ethics, Code of Conduct, and Public Petitions, presented by its Chairman, Senator Neda Imasuen.
