Date:

Organiser of the just concluded maiden Ibidoyin Aina’s Cup 2024, Ibidoyin Aina has predicted that the tournament will produce many Asisat Oshoala’s in no distant time.

While speaking to the press soon after the epoch making event, which was part of activities to mark her birthday, the legal luminary cum female football crooner, stated that the idea behind the tournament is to provide a platform for the girl child to showcase her skills for an opportunity for a possible career in the game.

“Being a lawyer myself, I have mobilized and attracted people, captains of industries from outside football to support the laudable initiative of also ensuring that these female footballers are educated.

“But the primary idea is to gift them an opportunity to be scouted, nurtured and prepared or equipped for a life in professional football.
“I have no doubt that this tournament will raise many successful female footballers like Asisat Oshoala.
“This is just the maiden edition and we selected the four teams that participated on regional basis, but we hope to expand it in the near future to inviting other states to make it bigger”, she posited.
