Ideye Cherishes ‘Family’ Life At Aris Thessaloniki

Aris Thessaloniki of Greece striker, Brown Aide Ideye has disclosed that he is already enjoying life at his new base, as the atmosphere he found at the club is one of a family environment and cordial relations, all of which he says have helped him settle down fast.

Although he signed only a year’s contract to join Aris earlier this summer, the former Super Eagles’ star admitted he could be thinking of an extension, considering how comfortable he already is at the club and in the city.
Ideye added during Mega Sports on Star 101.5 FM, Lagos that he is totally enjoying life at Aris and he could be ready to accept a contract extension at the club, where he says he is receiving better support and encouragement than he had at his last three clubs, West Bromwich Albion of England, Tianjin Teda of China and Olympiakos of Greece.
The 2013 Africa Cup of Nations winner, who signed a year’s deal with Aris in a bold move to get his career back on track, has already hit two goals in four league matches this season, and the 30-year-old all-action attacker, who has also played for Sochaux of France and Dynamo Kiev of Ukraine, said he wants to stay focused, in order to justify all the support he is enjoying at Aris.

Ideye stated at length: “Right now I just want to focus, if it is possible, I will like to increase the tally, which is to score in one game at a time. For me, that’s my focus, that’s my aim, pushing myself to the limit.
“I have just one year contract with them, and I am not going to go into details about that. The most important thing is that I love it here and I am happy being here.

“The team is like a family. From the first day I stepped my foot in the city, it has been love, even when I played five, six games without goals, it has been love. There’s no time someone tried to say something bad to me or try to discourage me.
“It’s been an amazing support from the fans, players and the president. I will see, I will see after the end of this contract and if the offer they have on the table is good, why not. It’s a very good city. It’s a very good team. I would love to stay here and extend my contract.”
