Ighalo Targets Return From Injury On Saturday

Shanghai Greenland Shenhua of China striker, Odion Jude Ighalo is targeting a return to action this Saturday, following his resumption of training with his club on Tuesday, after three weeks out with injury.

During his time out, the 29-year-old Ighalo missed Chinese Super League games against Shandong Luneng and Dalian Yifang, both of which his team lost, but he is now on course to resume playing this weekend and hope to revive his club’s fortune against Chongqing Dangdai Lifan.

This follows Ighalo’s return to full training with his Shanghai-based side just three days to make it three weeks out for the former Lyn Oslo of Norway, Udinese of Italy, Granada of Spain, Watford of England and Changchun Yatai of China striker.

He bowed out of action Shenhua, the club he joined in February, due to a hamstring injury he copped in the 12th minute of their 1-1 draw away to Tianjin Teda, but his rehabilitation went according to plan and time.

Consequently, Ighalo trained fully with his teammates on Tuesday and is already being expected back in Shenhua’s starting line-up for Saturday’s fixture against Chongqing Dangdai Lifan.
