Iheanacho now third most subbed on Nigerian player in Premier League history

Date:

Kelechi Iheanacho is now the third most subbed on Nigerian player in Premier League history after the Leicester City forward came on for Jamie Vardy in the Foxes’ 1-0 loss to Manchester City Saturday afternoon.

The 26 year old Iheanacho was subbed on in the 71st minute but he couldn’t stop his former side from running away with all three Premier League points at the King Power stadium.

The Super Eagle also couldn’t stop his 10th loss in 12 games against the Cityzens since he left the Etihad stadium in August 2017.

Iheanacho has now been used as a substitute 108 times in 178 appearances to move past Victor Anichebe (107) from 204 games.

Only Foluwashola Ameobi (139 substitute appearances in 298 games) and Nwankwo Kanu (116 substitute appearances in 273 games) have been subbed on more ahead of Iheanacho.
