The Chief Operating Officer of Interim Management Committee (IMC), Davidson Owumi has said that the league management will not be distracted and remain focused in making sure that they always go by the rules books that guides the game and more importantly end the league in May 2023.
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Disciplinary Committee upturned IMC decision on Remo Stars and Wikki Tourists by returning back three points and three goals deducted from both teams.
The points deduction follows the report of alleged violence on the Centre Referee, Ndubuisi Ukah, that was in-charge of Remo’s home game versus Gombe United by the General Manager of Remo Stars at the Ikenne Stadium. Similarly, on April 12, Wikki Tourists were sanctioned with three points and three goals deduction after the club fans assaulted match officials during a game against Bayelsa United. IMC claimed that all four match officials were assaulted during the game.
The former Rangers International striker in an exclusive interview with BSN Sports while reacting to the decision of the NFF Disciplinary Committee that upturned some of their decisions said: “No distractions.” He told BSN Sports.
He continued, “No matter where it is coming from. We have made up our minds that there will be no distractions. This means we are not going to allow anything to distract our focus. We are going to do according to what’s in our rules books. We are very thorough in what the law guiding football says. He concluded.
