Liverpool hero Jamie Carragher has jumped to the defence of England coach Gareth Southgate.
Southgate is fighting for his job after last night’s 4-0 home defeat to Hungary.
Carragher responded to critical fans, declaring: “You don’t understand what you’re doing.
“Shut up, clowns. This coach has had two great tournaments with the team and has shown the best results with the national team since 1966.”
Southgate took charge of England in 2016. Under his leadership, the Three Lions reached the semi-finals of the 2018 World Cup, and also took part in the Euro 2020 final.
