Injury Update: Sadiq Umar Unsure Of His Return To Action

Injured Nigeria’s Super Eagles and Real Sociedad striker Sadiq Umar has stated that he is not sure about his return date.

The lanky forward joined Sociedad last summer after a successful outing with another Spanish side UD Almeria.

He sustained the injury in September 2022 during a league match and he has been ruled out of the season.

“I’ve been working in the gym for seven months. To be honest, it’s not an easy situation to accept being in the same routine for so long, but I had to do it to come back stronger.

“I’m still on the fringes of the team, the recovery time is usually between seven and nine months, but I can’t say when I’ll be back,” he told GSFN.

Apart from missing key games for Real Sociedad, he has also missed out on the 2023 African Cup of Nations qualifiers.
