Super Eagles and Nottingham Forest of England striker, Taiwo Awoniyi says he has seen it all, haven progressed through the various Nigeria national teams into the Super Eagles.
Bought for £17 million in the summer by Nottingham Forest, Awoniyi is one of the few Nigerian players to have featured for every Nigeria cadet teams(U15, U17, U20, U23) and the Super Eagles.
His contributions to his EPL team has prompted Super Eagles coach, Jose Peseiro to invite him back into the Nigeria senior national team and Awoniyi is not unmindful of his long walk to the top.
“It is always a great privilege to be here and being able to be part of the national team is a dream come true.
“Coming from the U15 up to the Super Eagles is a long Journey and it is a journey I’m really proud of.
“But, there are times you won’t be here and there are times you would be here, so every opportunity counts.
“I just have to keep on going and keep on doing my thing and when I’m here, my job is just to score goals.
“As a striker, everyone wants to score goals, I just want to be up there, helping the team and scoring goals which is why I’m here.
“I believe it is always a privilege to be called upon to play, because we have a lot of good players out there but only 22 can be here.
“We that are here, have to make it count,” Awoniyi said in an exclusive interview with bunmiblair.com”
