Super Eagles Coach Jose Peseiro has admitted that beating Portugal in front of their fans will not be easy but insisted that they want to win the game.
The three-time African champions will confront the former European champions in a warm-up game in Alvalade on Thursday.
While speaking to the NFFTV Peseiro who led Super Eagles to two consecutive losses in friendly matches said his boys are ready to go for a win.
” We want to reach the top in Africa, we want to win the next AFCON. Fans will want us to play against a weaker team and win 4-0 for them to be happy but for us, it’s a process.
“We want a friendly match against a good team and I want to win.
Against Portugal, we want to show our character, play in a hard way and prove that we are a good team.
“I know it’s not easy to beat Portugal but we want to defend our shirt,” he said.
This is the first time Nigeria and Portugal will clash at the full international level apart from the underage level.
