Iwobi Gets ‘New Headmaster’ Tag At Everton

Everton of England midfielder, Alex Iwobi has been granted a fresh tag of ‘New Headmaster’ at the club he joined this summer from English Premier League rivals, Arsenal, as the 23-year-old’s two goals for The Toffees have come off his head.

Before now, Iwobi had not been known to be prolific with his head, but the Super Eagles’ star appears to be cutting a new niche for himself, as he netted his first EPL goal for The Toffees with another header, after opening his account with a similar effort in last week’s Carabao Cup victory against Lincoln City.

It is also a new record for Iwobi, as he two headed goals for Everton this season have seen him already go one more better than he had during his enter time at Arsenal, whose fans are now wondering if the decision to sell the bubbling lad had not been an error.

After hitting the bull’s eye against Wolverhampton Wanderers with his head in Sunday’s 3-2 home win at Goodison Park, analysts were left mouth agape seeing Iwobi power home a cross by Gylfi Sigurdsson to the back of the net in the 12th minute as The Toffees edged their visitors.

After helping Everton secure their second league win of the season, Iwobi, who scored 15 goals across all competitions with Arsenal and only one with his head, rave reviews are trailing the dread-locks wearing winger-cum-midfielder at Emirates Stadium and beyond.

Iwobi’s effort also received plaudits from Newcastle United legend, Alan Shearer, who praised the Eagles’ playmaker for scoring on his full EPL debut for Everton,. In a game that witnessed an extraordinary start to the game at Goodison Park with three goals scored inside 12 minutes.

Shearer said during Match of the Day on Sky Sports: ”Fantastic ball in, he (Gylfi Sigurdsson) puts it in with perfection right in the right area for Iwobi that is running onto it there, perfection that ball.

”It’s a very, very good header as well. We all know about Iwobi before the game, he has to start and score more goals, he was in the right position there.”
