Nigerian Midfielders Alex Iwobi and Wilfred Ndidi were in action as Leicester City secured a 0-2 win over Everton on their ground in the English Premier League.
Alex Iwobi started the encounter for Everton, his 14th of the 2022 EPL season, while compatriots Wilfred Ndidi and Kelechi Iheanacho were named on the substitute bench for Leicester City.
Alex Iwobi and his Everton teammates were second best on the night with the visitors bossing possession stats 49-51, shots on goal 12-22 and deservingly walking away with all three points on Saturday evening.
Leicester City won both halves of the match, Youri Tilemans firing the foxes in front with a 45th minute belter before Harry Barnes doubled the advantage in the 86th minute.
While Everton Midfielder Alex Iwobi was on for the entire game, Leicester City’s Wilfred Ndidi was introduced for Patson Daka in the 71st minute.
Kelechi Iheanacho was an unused substitute as Leicester City claimed a 0-2 win at Goddison Park.
With the result, Leicester City have climbed out of the relegation zone. With 14 points from 14 games, Leicester City are 13th on the English Premier League table two places above Iwobi’s Everton who occupy 15th spot.
