Jinadu, Oluwabusola Out Of Eaglets’ Turkey Trip

Two England-based goalkeepers that have trained with Nigeria’s cadet national team, Golden
Eaglets in Abuja, Joseph Oluwabusola of Bournemouth and Daniel Jinadu from West Ham United will not be part of the squad for this year’s invitational competition they are billed to contest in Turkey, starting this weekend.

Although both youngsters had been expected to form a part of Coach Manu Garba’s squad for the UEFA ASSIST U-17 International Tournament in Turkey, after been named in the Eaglets’ 50-player provisional list, Jinadu was left out because he is yet to fully integrate with the team while Oluwabusola took permission of absence to face some academic obligations.

An official stressed that Jinadu was left out only because Garba opted to give members of the team that prosecuted the zonal qualifies and Africa U-17 Cup of Nations more opportunities to prove their mettle, hence his decision to ensure that majority of them make the trip to Turkey.

On the other hand, Oluwabusola asked to be excused from the ongoing camp in Abuja due to educational commitments, and the 16-year-old keeper has already returned to England, in order to ensure he is in time to register for the new academic session.

Both shot-stoppers, however, still remain in contention to make the Eaglets’ squad l list to this year’s FIFA U-17 World Cup in Brazil, as Oluwabusola says he will join the camp in Turkey, even if he will not play, while Jinadu is scheduled to receive a Magnetic Resonance imaging (MRI) scan.
