John Terry hits back at MP, Chris Bryant for criticising Abramovich tribute

Former Chelsea captain, John Terry has slammed Member of the British Parliament, Chris Bryant, after the lawmaker asked him to immediately take down a tribute he wrote for departing Blues owner, Roman Abramovich.

Describing Terry’s post as ‘appalling’, the Labour MP had called on the retired defender to take it down immediately.

Terry posted a tweet hailing the Russian business mogul as ‘the best’ on Tuesday after the billionaire confirmed he was selling the club.

The Oligarch’s decision to sell the club came amid Russia’s invasion of neighbouring Ukraine.

Terry, a former Chelsea captain, had no problem voicing his support for the club’s long-time owner with Bryant responding on Twitter: “This is appalling”.

Terry fired back at Bryant in an explosive tweet on Saturday morning, raising the MP’s controversial voting history.

“The same MP that claimed fortunes in expenses of the taxpayers’ money. Also, the same MP who voted that we invade Iraq [clown emoji].” Terry tweeted
