Veteran Nollywood actor Olu Jacobs is marking his 82nd birthday today, just weeks after untrue rumors of his death circulated on social media.
To celebrate the milestone, Jacobs’ wife, Joke Silva, posted a heartfelt video on Instagram. In the video, Jacobs is seen wearing a personalized house coat while Silva showers him with prayers and well-wishes.
She wrote, “82 just like that. Agba ko ni nira l’agbara Jesu.
“Happy birthday and have an amazing year ahead, my darling… Sir J of life _olujacobs (loving his customised housecoat).”

The actress has been open about her husband’s struggle with dementia since 2021 and has been by his side every step of the way.
Even though he has stepped out of the acting scene, Jacobs is a world-class actor and legend in the Nollywood sector.
Prior to his illness, he had harnessed his acting skills for decades, garnering a whopping 40 years of experience under his belt. He has been described as ‘one of Nollywood’s finest actors, the best role interpreter, and the best manipulator of words’.
