Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua

Tyson Fury has criticized Anthony Joshua and Daniel Dubois as “limited” fighters, while expressing confidence in his own superior boxing abilities ahead of his highly anticipated rematch with Oleksandr Usyk in December.

The “Gypsy King,” who is set to challenge Usyk for three heavyweight titles in Riyadh, dismissed suggestions to alter his approach, instead emphasizing his unique style as the key to victory.

“I’ll stick to the same strategy as before: good boxing,” Fury told TNT Sports. “For someone of my size, it’s not typical to be able to box and slip, so why would I take that away from my game? People tell me to walk Usyk down, but if it was that easy, why didn’t Joshua, a big, strong guy, do it? Why didn’t Dubois? They’re both limited compared to me—very limited.”

Fury, who lost to Usyk in May, handing the Ukrainian the undisputed heavyweight title, remains committed to his approach. He believes his agility, versatility, and sharp focus will be decisive in the rematch.

“A man who walks forward to him is giving him exactly what he wants. I’m a side-on boxer—slipping, sliding, uppercutting, hooking. I’ll do that, but with more focus. That’s my path to victory,” Fury added.

Despite some criticism of his corner team, including his father John Fury and trainers SugarHill Steward and Andy Lee, Fury shrugged off calls for changes.

“People can have opinions, but they’re not the ones in the ring doing the fighting,” he said. “If I’m happy, the world’s happy—and I’m happy.”

Meanwhile, Usyk has played down the significance of Fury’s power in their first fight, a claim the British fighter has challenged.

Fury, however, accepted his defeat with grace, saying, “I believe God has a plan for everyone, and the plan was for Usyk to win that fight. He did, so fair play.”

Fury’s remarks about Joshua and Dubois come amid ongoing speculation about their futures in the heavyweight division.

Joshua, now 34, suffered a fifth-round knockout loss to Dubois in September, prompting questions about his next move.

Trainer Tony Sims has suggested that a long-awaited clash between Fury and Joshua could still happen, regardless of the outcome of Fury’s rematch with Usyk.
