The All Progressives Congress (APC) in the House of Representatives on Thursday gained two new members following the defection of Abdulmuminu Jibrin and Sagir Ibrahim Koki from the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) in Kano State.

Speaker Abbas Tajudeen announced their defection during plenary, marking another boost for the ruling party in the lower chamber.

The development came barely 24 hours after a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) lawmaker from Kaduna State, Daniel Amos, also crossed over to the APC.

Jibrin, who chairs the House Committee on Housing, had earlier in the week confirmed his resignation from both the NNPP and the Kwankwasiyya movement.

The lawmakers cited irreconcilable differences within the NNPP leadership at both state and national levels, saying the internal crisis had made effective consultation and representation difficult.
