The newly defected Governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara, on Wednesday night paid an unscheduled visit to the national headquarters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abuja.
Fubara arrived at the party secretariat at about 6:50 p.m. and was received by the APC National Secretary, Senator Ajibola Basiru; the National Welfare Secretary, Hon. Donatus Nwapa; and the Deputy National Organising Secretary, Nze Chidi Duru.
Also present to welcome the governor was the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo (SAN).

Dressed in a white kaftan and a red cap, the Rivers governor explained to the party leadership that although he was expected at the Progressive Governors’ Forum meeting, he considered it necessary to first pay a courtesy visit to the APC national secretariat.
He was later ushered into the office of the National Secretary, where he held a closed-door meeting with top party officials.
