JUST IN: PDP has not summoned Wike, says Senator Nwogu

Date:

Senator Olaka Nwogu, a member of the Disciplinary Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has refuted claims that the party summoned FCT Minister Nyesom Wike.

Reports had circulated suggesting that Wike, a former Governor of Rivers State, was summoned due to alleged anti-party activities and his ongoing disputes with Rivers Governor Siminialayi Fubara. However, Nwogu, who previously represented Rivers South East Senatorial District, dismissed these claims as false.

Nwogu explained that the Disciplinary Committee had not yet convened to address any issues related to Wike. He attributed the misinformation to individuals seeking to advance personal agendas.

“The report claiming that Nyesom Wike was summoned is inaccurate. The disciplinary committee has not even met to discuss such matters,” Nwogu stated. “There has been considerable misinformation circulating, often from individuals who should know better. These inaccuracies appear to be driven by personal motives rather than fact.”

He further clarified that the committee is still in the process of organizing itself and has not yet started its official work. “There are various allegations and attempts to misrepresent the committee’s activities. The committee is in the early stages of setting up its functions and has not yet addressed these issues,” Nwogu added.
