Kelechi Nwakali happy to reunite with Samuel Chukwueze

AFCON21: Kenneth Omeruo, Ndidi, Nwakali, Iheanacho Arrives Camp

Midfielder Kelechi Nwankali is happy to reunite with former junior national teammate, Samuel Chukwueze.

The duo won the FIFA U17 World Cup for Nigeria back in 2015, under Coach Emmanuel Amuneke.

While Chukwueze has become a regular in the senior set up, Nwankali had to overcome some difficulty, before earning his first call up to the team, ahead of the African Cup of Nations in Cameroon.

The SD Huesca midfielder, who is expected to play a huge part in the team, stated that he will be happy to be in the Super Eagles line up and also be reunited with his old teammate.

“It has been been good mingling with the Super Eagles players, training with them off and on the pitch, they have been good guys all round. It has been good even he’s my room mate (Chukwueze).

“We played in the same academy back in Umuaihia. We played in the Uner-17, Under-20 and few games in the Under-23. But then it has been good between me and Chukwueze.” he said.
